Confidentiality & Your Medical Certificate

We understand that for pilots, the primary barrier to mental health support is the fear of losing your medical certificate. At Aviation Trauma, we provide dignified, trauma-informed care designed to protect both your wellbeing and your career.

How confidential are these sessions?

Sessions are strictly confidential within the standard legal and ethical guidelines of mental health care. We are an independent practice, and we are not affiliated with, nor do we report to, any airline, union, or the FAA.

What resources are available through my peers?

We encourage pilots to explore HIMS (the FAA's confidential peer program) and ALPA's CIRP peer support for program-specific guidance tailored to the aviation community. These resources complement professional counseling by providing peer-led perspectives.

How can I address specific medical certificate questions?

While we support your mental health, certification-specific concerns should be addressed directly with an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). We are happy to discuss how clinical support interacts with your professional life during a free consultation.
